In June 1913, Geelong’s newest bowling club – Bareena come into existence. The history and traditions of Bareena are very much built around the games of bowls, its development throughout the world, its progress through time, together with founding and influence of neighbouring bowling clubs. Each and all have impacted on Bareena. An understanding of these historical events, locally and more broadly, helps us appreciate Bareena’s unique bowling heritage.
Bareena Bowling Club is the home of the Bareena Badgers. Our club is over 100 years old and has a massive historical presence.
The building was constructed in 1915 by the Geelong architects, Laird and Buchan. It has architectural significance at state level as an important recreational building and for the virtuosity in its glorious Art Nouveau timber fretwork decoration.
With two immaculate synthetic greens, ample parking, two function areas with individual bars and amazing undercover areas and bbqs, Bareena Bowling Club is the perfect destination.
